Crime Prevention Programs and Best Security Systems

Miami-Dade County law enforcement representatives are fully aware of the fact that an inexpensive, easy to implement crime prevention program can save lives and change mentalities. People usually learn the hard way that a is an invaluable asset and decide to install security systemequipment only after they are forced to deal with the consequences of a burglary attempt.

October was designated the Crime Prevention Month in 1984 by the National Crime Prevention Council. Every single year, police officers, civic groups, schools and businesses from all American states join efforts to educate residents and establish new partnerships leading to lower crime rates. The main goal is to create safer, empowered communities.

In Miami-Dade County, this initiative was received with great enthusiasm by local authorities and by the public. Throughout the entire month, safety-conscious residents attended several events entitled “Celebrating Safe Communities” and highlighted their security-related problems and concerns.

Crime is on the increase in most large U.S. cities and our community is not inmune to it.  Making yourself less of a target is simpler than you might think.  By educating the community on crime prevention techniques and by getting citizens involved in crime prevention activities such as neighborhood watch, we can reduce the number of crimes in Miami-Dade County and increase the quality of life for its citizens,”  explain representatives from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The participants also discussed a series of highly efficient burglar deterrents, including crime watch groups and the currently available on the market. During these events, informative brochures were distributed, and law enforcement representatives also got the chance to put their crime prevention bus on full display. The Palmetto Bay Police Department was awarded for its extraordinary commitment and its effective burglary prevention program.

October has become the official month for recognizing and celebrating the practice of crime prevention, while promoting awareness of important issues such as victimization, volunteerism, and creating safer, more caring communities. The month-long celebration spotlights successful crime prevention efforts on the local, state, and national levels. NCPC annually releases a Crime Prevention Month Kit. The kit consists of a wall calendar and reproducible brochures” reveal NCPC officials on their official website.

Prevention is definitely the key to living a safer life. Due to the efficient crime prevention strategies developed and implemented year after year, Miami-Dade crime rates dropped by 5.2% in 2012, compared with the number of criminal acts reported in 2011. In fact, Florida is taking pride in its lowest overall crime rate recorded in the last 4 decades. Clearly, neighborhood watch groups and state-of-the-art have managed to prove their value.
