Hello there. My name is Sandra. I am very interested in a few of the wireless security system companies listed here on your site. Your security reviews are great and I appreciate the information that has been provided but I am still having trouble choosing which companies to call. Could you give any further information or insight that would help me determine how to go about calling these wireless security companies?

Hi Sandra. Great question! Choosing which wireless security company is right for can be tough. But that’s why we’re here to help. If you’ve learned enough from the wireless security system reviews to determine which companies you want to call I would narrow that list down to two. Then call those two companies first. If you don’t like what you hear from either one then move on to your third option. My guess is you will find that one of the first two wireless security system companies you call will be the one you choose. Follow this checklist and you should be good to go:

How To Choose Which Security Companies To Call:

      – Read wireless security system reviews
      – Make a checklist of the things you want and whether or not the companies offer them
      – Choose two wireless security companies that best fit your needs and budget

I am also very interested in a wireless security system but I have a few concerns. My wireless internet goes in and out sometimes, and I know my neighbors use plenty of wireless devices. Can other wireless items cause damage or interrupt the signals from the wireless security system? I have heard ‘wireless security systems are the best security systems’ from many folks, I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

Hello! We have had this question from many visitors. First, thanks for stopping by Security System Reviews. Having a wireless security system is concerning to some folks if they don’t know how they work. I would first suggest reading our security system blog to learn more about wireless security systems and how they work. We can say, however, that a wireless home security system will not be interrupted by other wireless devices in or around your home. In fact, you and all of your neighbors could have the same home security system from the same wireless security system company and you would never know. Each system works independently and won’t be interfered with by your home wireless internet, garage door openers, and other similar things.

There is a wireless security system in my home from the previous owner. The house is nearly new so it has not been here that long. i don’t believe it’s active right now, it beeps when we open doors and stuff but we’ve never armed it or really used it. Is there a way to find out if the wireless security system can be activated by one of these companies. Is this something I’ll have to know before I call or can the security company help me with determining what needs to be done? We do want to get the system activated but don’t think we want to install a whole new system – feels like a waste. I’m hoping that one of the companies on this list will be able to provide us with service.

Hey there! Thanks for coming by Security System Reviews and for leaving your comment.

You can normally tell the manufacturer of your wireless security system by looking on the Control Panel. The Control Panel is the main hub of the system. If the Control Panel is separate from your keypads then your keypads may also have a logo on them. You don’t always need to know what wireless security system equipment you have before calling the wireless security system companies that interest you. These companies will usually have ways to determine whether or not you have a compatible wireless system. You may have to get a new Control Panel from the wireless alarm company, however, depending on how they work. It’s unlikely you will have to install an entirely new wireless security system. The odds are in your favor that one of the top wireless security companies on our list can take over your system. Thanks!

I just purchased a wireless security system from FrontPoint Security. The entire process was very easy from the start. I found another security system review website along with this one. They both helped tremendously in my search for a home security system. I did not know a whole lot about these systems but the information I found definitlely educated me and made me feel a lot more comfortable. I’m glad I found FrontPoint Security, although I’m sure any of these companies would be good.

My wife and I have been contemplating installing a security system for a little while now. One thing we have been hung up on is installing a wireless security system or a hard wired system. I am more of a traditionalist and have trouble adopting new technology. I just don’t trust it quite yet. My wife thinks I’m being picky and living in the past and that wireless security systems really are the best security systems out there. By reading this I can see why wireless systems are nice, but could you maybe go over some of the pertinent points again just so I can feel better? Ha!

I have had a wireless security system for a couple years. I actually use one of the Best Wireless Security Companies on your list. For anyone else looking for a security system I implore you to get a wireless security system. My wireless security system was incredibly easy to install and has never given me any problems. In fact we actually had a neighbor’s son try to cut our phone line as a joke, which would have defeated our security system. He wasn’t trying to break in, but if someone had tried to after that we would have been out of luck. But anyways, go wireless people, you won’t be disappointed.

FrontPoint, FrontPoint, FrontPoint. That’s all I can say. FrontPoint has the best wireless security system. I’ve been a customer for a few months and FrontPoint has blown me away in all aspects. The wireless security system was simple to install and it’s very easy to use. My eight year old knows how to arm/disarm the system. They are definitely one of the best wireless security system companies. Customer service is spectacular and the wireless system is a breeze while keeping us protected. Love it.

Is it best to put the Control Panel in an open room, such as the living room? Our living room is adjacent to our front entry way, but we don’t have a table or anything to put the Control Panel there. I heard that putting the Control Panel in plain view was not a good idea, but then how do you use it to arm and disarm the system? We’re looking at purchasing a wireless home security system but have seen some conflicting information out there. Thought you guys could help. The information here seems very reliable.

    Thank you –

I have a vacation home (small house) in the mountains where we go for hunting/fishing trips and for weekend getaways. We use if often but a security system would be a great way to deter inturders. We’ve had a break-in or two in the past, mainly vagrants looking for warmth but it would be nice to be notified when this happens so the local sheriff can go up there if needed and check things out. Our home has internet and has some decent cellular service so it looks like most of these options will work for us. A wireless security system is our thinking so we don’t have to drill into the nice log wood we have at the cabin. Hopefully the adhesive will not damage any of the wood, although I don’t believe it will. Are there specific wireless systems that would be best for our situation? Should we get a camera? We want the best security system we can get but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg either, it’s not as if we’re protecting valuables or anything of that sort. Just trying to keep people out when we’re not there.
